Three Different Methods Of Window Treatments Cleaning

By Arthur Lee

Window treatments are the interior decorating elements, usually in places like Fairfield County CT, which are placed in, over, on, or around the windows. Usually, the purpose of these is installing the elements in order to enhance the room and window aesthetics. There are lot of styles that can be installed and these types may depend on where these are to be installed.

Aside from its use as a decoration, it can also protect the furniture, accessories, and the flooring to be damaged because of the excessive heat of sunlight. The formation of the dust and dirt is possible and this usually results to having allergies and even respiratory issues to homeowners. Removing the allergens can be done through these simple Fairfield County CT window treatments methods for cleaning.

The steps will involve three different methods. So the first method is cleaning the drapes and the curtains. Make sure to read the label carefully. In this way, you will know the proper washing instructions for the curtains and the drapes. When it is being specified that these are not to be washed in the washing machine, do not do it in order to avoid damaging the fabric and instead, hand wash them.

Removal of particle of dusts from fabric treatments. One very useful tool for this is by the utilization of vacuum cleaners and be sure to set the lowest setting for the suction. For some spots, smudges, and stains, make use of a baby powder. Apply it into a toothbrush then scrub it to the dirt in a gentle manner.

Also, when fabrics are being dried, be sure that the instructions in label are followed properly before you are going to place it inside a dryer. If it is stated in the label that drying would be fine, your dryer must be set to low heat or to cool setting. For avoiding the materials to shrink, while still damp, remove it out from a dryer.

Second is to clean the blinds. Start on removing the dust from blinds. You may take it out from the window, close it, then lay it flat on the floor or just on the window. Starting from the top, vacuum it with the brush attachment or the handheld vacuum. You may also use a feather duster or a soft cloth for removing the dust. Turn it into its opposite direction then repeat the method.

For the vinyl and plastic blinds, get an all purpose type of cleaner then spray it to the material or use a sponge. These may also be cleaned using the garden hose or may also be washed in a bathtub that is filled with warm water and mild liquid soap. For wood blinds, use the surface cleaner designed specifically for the woods. Make sure not to make it very wet to avoid wood warping.

Shades cleaning. Use also a vacuum cleaner in performing the method and it must be set to the lowest suction setting. Similar to other methods, read and understand the instructions carefully. Typically, fabrics are dry cleaned. So never make use of water solutions when dry cleaning is specified.

The plastic types must be wiped with the use of clean cloth that is dipped in a warm water with a mild liquid soap. For stain and spots, spray with all purpose cleaner and scrub gently. Then lastly, honeycomb types of shades should be cleaned by using mild liquid soap with warm water. Blot it directly into the spot or the stain. Do not rub it after for avoiding damage to the shade texture.
