All-Natural Scented Aromatherapy Soy Candles

By Kelly Wood

There are many kinds of aromatherapy soy candles available containing different ingredients. Every scented candle is basically some combination of oils mixed into a wax. In the case of a soy candle, it's made of soy beans that have been processed into vegetable wax. Essential oils mixed into the wax are responsible for the natural scent it gives off when the candle is lit.

It's not only about the scent, though, because this candle is also environment-friendly. The fumes are just as therapeutic as they are completely non-toxic. The precise benefits provided will no doubt vary for each scent, but the most common effects are enhanced mental clarity and stress relief. Not to mention that it has an extraordinary power to revitalize.

By the time the candle melts and burns out, all the ingredients will have been returned to nature, from whence they came. It's a big difference as compared to a traditional paraffin-wax candle, which is made from petroleum byproducts and has a huge carbon footprint. It also does not have any inherent therapeutic benefits distinct from the oils.

Another difference between the two is that the vegetable wax candle has a comparatively low melting point. It can melt down on a hot day even without being set alight. It's important to buy it with the holder and keep it contained before, during and after use.

Another way to get around the low melting point is to throw in some additives that raise the temperature at which the wax begins to melt. Note that aromatherapy needs candles that are all-natural and have no artificial additives. As the flame burns, the patient is soaked in the aroma of vegetable wax and scented oils that revitalize and refresh the mind and body.

As mentioned above, the choice of scent has a big impact. There is a wide range of "true scents" available, including lavender, eucalyptus, cinnamon, orange, cedarwood, clove, mint, sage and rosemary, among others. These are known as single scents, and the scent from the candle is essentially the same as smelling a eucalyptus leaf or sniffing an orange.

There is also the option to choose a synergy, which is a combination of essential oils. It has a combined effect that is greater than the individual effect of each of the constituent oils included in the blend. For example, a blend consisting of eucalyptus, rosemary and mint gives an extraordinary jolt and cooling effect that wakes up the patient. It makes their fatigue melt away, and quickly opens up clogged sinuses.

A combination of cedarwood with fir needles and spruce creates the freshness of a forest inside the room. It alleviates depression, and leaves people free from worries about their daily life and urban headaches. Professionals use many such blends of aromatherapy soy candles to create the desired effect. The good thing about it is that this method involves no downside. The affordable candles are completely harmless to both the patient as well as the environment.
