Decide Whether You Prefer 3D Animation Toronto Or Other Styles To Create Your Film

By Sharron Cantu

General animation types include stop-motion, 2D, and the popular 3D animations. 3D animation Toronto is one of the best methods animators use to create eye-catching films and clips. Making a movie with the aid of photographs of objects, series of drawings or computer graphics in general is basically moving pictures that represent any subject matter, from a moving bike to a full-featured Disney film.

The length at which you can create an animated movie varies. It all depends on the immensity and details of the project, and the process can range from within minutes to years. Animators can choose to use physical models or use computer software to complete their project. Various mediums in which you can use are pencil or computer drawings, to physical or computer models. For physical models, you can virtually use any sort of material including clay, sand, coins, buttons, etc.

Stop-motion process is where an animator or filmmaker takes shots of physical objects and characters. While captured video involves live-action movement, stop-motion is made up of continuous pictures of these intervened movements and changes. The other two basic styles are 2D and 3D. Combined, all three methods make up the basic types.

There are two types of the 2D category. The first is cell animation, which is the traditional style of 2D. All the older 2D films were made in this fashion before advances in computer technology. The cell process of making a movie by using photographs of objects, series of drawings or computer graphics is a frame-by-frame method, meaning that animators draw every frame of every scene on paper. Afterwards, each drawing is shot by a camera, and a clip is created by linking them together.

The second method of 2D process is done by using computer software. In this method, drawings and paintings are all done on the computer, and none physically drawn on paper. Adobe Flash is one of the most popular software animators use to create films like this.

Some animators may use to combine the two methods for one process. In this case, they would take any art they've drawn or sketched on a piece of paper and scan it into computer software to finish up. For example, an outline drawing of a 2D character could be incorporated into software to be colored in and refined.

Nowadays, feature films are usually made in 3D animations. This is due to the immense amount of detail an animator can include in their characters and objects. While 2D is created on 2 axis and does not provide many angles of view on the subject matter, 3D is made on 3 axis (x, y, z) and gives the viewer as much detail the animator wants.

In no way is 3D method manually drawn on a piece of paper. Only software can be used to create such detail involved. Two popular animation software are Maya and 3D Max. However, many people prefer the simpler Blender, since Maya and 3D Max take a bit more getting used to.

Motion capture is another style many animators often use. Although it isn't exactly fully animation, it involves 3D processing. In this style, animators shoot a live action sequence and render the clip in their choice of 3D software to create an animated feel.
